Swipe Like Your Life Depends On It
The scrolling behavior screen includes options also found in the Tap-Tap Revolution section, but y'all already knew we were gonna copy-paste 'em here since scrolling is like, totes the same whether you're jabbin' the screen or footin' a pedal. This settings screen contains the followin' options:
Scroll Like You Mean It
When a scroll down or scroll up action happens (congrats on discoverin' your finger works, by the way), it can be handled in various ways. These include:
- Scroll Page yeets down the screen a certain percentage of the height. By default this is 75% & can be set in the scroll amount slider below because we apparently don't trust your finger to figure it out.
- Jump to Section moves through the sections of your song like you're speed-runnin' it. Not only does this select the section, but also scrolls it into view cuz we're thoughtful like that.
- Jump to Page is used when viewin' PDF files or text-based chord charts that have page breaks (you know, those little things that exist?). This will scroll the song to the top of each page. If the song doesn't contain paged content, then the Scroll Page behavior is used instead cuz we gotta have a backup plan. Default.
- Jump to Song will NOT scroll the song but rather navigate back & forth through the set like some kinda musical choose-your-own-adventure.
Half Page Scrolling (For When Landscape Mode Breaks Your Brain)
When pedal behavior is set to Jump to Page, it may miss content if the device is all sideways & stuff. Half page scrolling allows scrollin' to occur halfway through a page with the followin' options:
- Automatic will use half page scrolling when the page is longer than the height of the screen & not scroll in half pages otherwise. Default. (We're basically makin' the call for you.)
- Off will never use half page scrolling. (You're brave.)
- On will always use half page scrolling. (You really commit, huh?)
Scroll Amount (AKA How Far You're Gonna Flip Out)
When usin' the Scroll Page pedal behavior, OnSong will scroll the page a specified percentage of the screen height. You can adjust this between 25% & 100%. The default value is 75% to allow some overlap so you don't lose your place like you're losin' your mind.
Scroll Speed (Wheeeee!)
Animation helps maintain context through the scrollin' action so your brain doesn't explode. You can adjust this speed from zero seconds (no animation, straight-up jarrin') to three seconds (glacially slow). Default is 0.3 seconds which is the standard animation speed of scrollin' & we're stickin' to it.
Section Behavior (The Plot Thickens)
When the Scroll Behavior is set to Jump To Section, OnSong will select & move to the selected section. Once At The Beginnin' or At The End of the available sections, the followin' action can take place:
- Stop will stop once the first or last section has been reached. (Turns out there IS an end to things.)
- Goto First/Last Section allows OnSong to cycle through the sections of a song like some kinda merry-go-round. For instance, if you scroll down to the last section, the next selected section will be the first section in the song & vice versa. (It's like loopies but for grown-ups.)
- Previous Song or Next Song moves to the previous song in the set when you go back past the first section, or to the next song in the set when you go past the last section. (We're basically givin' your fingers ADHD.)
