Divvy It Up

Tap on a song section in the song viewer & boom—section selected. These settings are basically the puppet strings for how that selection looks & acts. ZOMG, riveting stuff.

Color Extravaganza

Wanna make your section selector look less boring? Tap the row & hop over to the Colorpalooza Builder. Go wild. Pick a custom color or grab one from our super fancy semi-transparent presets: Transparent, Red, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink, Grey, or Teal. (We defaulted to Teal because we have taste.) (Default)

Selection Style (a.k.a. "How Visible Do You Want This Thing?")

Pick how your selected section gets highlighted so you can actually see it. Mind-blowing options:

  • Nope turns off the whole visualization thing. It's like the section isn't even there. Existential.
  • Bar slaps a skinny line on the left side of the screen. How thick? Whatever your vertical position indicator is feelin' that day.
  • Page highlights the entire section like some kinda cosmic ruler descended from the heavens.
  • Section drops a rounded rectangle around your section like it's getting a lil' hug.

Selection Thickness (Thin? Thicc? You Decide.)

Using bar mode? Set how thicc that bar should be. Default pulls from your vertical position indicator. Other totally personality-defining options: hairline, thin, medium, thick, thicker & thickest. Living your best life.

Select Tapped Sections (The Precedence Drama)

Here's where it gets spicy: section selection can muscle out other stuff you're tappin'. OnSong's got the brains to figure out if a section should be selected. Pick your adventure:

  • Never is the ultimate "don't touch my sections" energy.
  • Automatic is like, super smart & checks if MIDI or scenes are assigned, if lyrics projection is turned on, or if you're streaming to folks via OnSong Connect or OnCue. (This is the default 'cause we're not animals.) Default.
  • Always selects sections no matter what. Live dangerously.

Scroll Alignment (Where Should Your Section Chill?)

When you pick a section, it scrolls into view. But where in the viewport? You got options:

  • Top yeets the section to the top of the song viewer's visible area.
  • Middle parks it right in the center where it belongs. (default)
  • Bottom sends it down to chill at the bottom.

Scroll to Selected Section

Tap a section & it gets selected, fires off MIDI events, scene changes happen, lyrics pop up—the whole shebang. Flip this on & it also scrolls that section into view. We left it on by default 'cause we're nice. Default is on.

Scroll Under Menubar (The Overlay Situation)

In OnSong, the menubar & statusbar hover on top like they own the place. Cool for full-screen mode vibes. But when you're selectin' sections, content can slide under the menubar & hide. Choose your chaos:

  • Never locks that section in place. It will not go under the menubar. Srsly.
  • Automatic plays it smart—keeps content from ducking under the menubar & statusbar if they're visible & fully opaque. If the menubar's semi-transparent tho? Content flows right through like a ghost. (default)
  • Always lets content go wherever it wants under the menubar. Do what thou wilt.

Note: iPhone users—that Scroll Under Menubar thing? It also applies to the toolbar hangin' out at the bottom of your screen. You're welcome.
