⚡ Don't Kill Your Battery, Plz
Unlike other apps, OnSong will keep your device screen from ghosting out while you're actually using it. Tweak these settings to control how OnSong acts & find ways to squeeze a lil' more juice outta your battery. #ThanksForNothing
Dimming
Screen brightness is basically a battery vampire. Crank down that glow & you'll stretch your charge like it's made of taffy. If you jam a set, bounce offstage for a bit, OnSong can auto-dim the screen & stop eating your power like it owes you money.
Dim Screen
This glorious toggle lets you turn on automatic screen dimming by setting how long before OnSong gets all moody & dark. Pick from Never (obvi the default), or anything from 2 minutes to 3 whole hours. Living dangerously, we see you.
To Brightness
This is the percentage-y percentage your screen will chill at. Like, if you set a timeframe in the Dim Screen weirdness, OnSong will dial down the brightness to whatever number you picked. Revolutionary. We know.
When Plugged In
By default, OnSong's all like "nah bro, I'm plugged in, I'm stayin' bright!" & won't dim. But you can flip this switch to make it dim anyway, even when it's literally feeding from the wall. Because apparently you hate happiness.
Sleep
OnSong is basically that friend who won't leave your party. It'll keep your device awake & alert as long as the app is open. Mess with these settings if you wanna change that vibe.
Sleep Screen
OnSong will just... keep... going... & going... & going, keeping your device awake until you literally turn it off or bail on the app entirely. But hey, you can change this by picking a timeframe between 2 minutes & 3 hours if you're into that sorta thing. Default? Never. Shocking.
Run In Background
Normally when OnSong leaves the party (i.e., stops running up front), your operating system yeetus it into the void. But OnSong can totally keep running in the background when it's got important stuff to do. You can set this to:
- Never will absolutely obliterate OnSong the second it's not in the spotlight anymore.
- When Active keeps OnSong sneaking around in the background while something legit is happening—like audio playin', AuxDock keyboard/guitar/vocal chains ready to roll, metronome starin' you down, MIDI clock tickin', or you're literally presentin' a Chromecast or OnSong Along situation. This is the default & we're pretty sure it's fine.
- When Plugged In does everything When Active does, PLUS keeps OnSong lurkin' in the background whenever your device is literally drinking electricity from a wall socket.
- Always will keep the app runnin' in the background even when nothin's playin' & it's just vibin' in the shadows. Super useful if OnSong is controllin' lights or tossin' MIDI events around like confetti—like MIDI clock & stuff.
