MIDI

MIDI is like, super duper powerful for controlling literally everything about your live gig. OnSong's all like "YEAH we're gonna automate the heck outta this." Whether you wanna step on a foot pedal & magically skip to the next song, or you're tweaking your synths & effects & talking to other apps, buckle up buttercup—this is where the magic (hopefully) happens.

Triggers

So in OnSong, triggers are basically "if this happens, do that" but make it MIDI. OnSong sits there listening like a creepy little robot for incoming MIDI messages. When it hears the right note/CC/whatever, it goes "YESSIR" & does the thing you told it to do. This tab lets you either manually punch in a bunch of MIDI nerd stuff, or you can just hit a button & let OnSong eavesdrop on your hardware. Your call, genius.

Globals

Okay so OnSong is basically a context-aware MIDI control freak that actually makes sense (shocking, we know). Like, maybe you need your vocal processor's reverb to get all lush when you hit the chorus—super common, right? MIDI Globals are where you dump all those gnarly MIDI commands in ONE place instead of scattering 'em all over creation like some kind of animal. Then you can plop that combo literally anywhere in OnSong. Need to tweak? One. Central. Location. You're welcome.
