๐ต Sneak Peek (Don't Tell The Label)
The song preview screen lets you peep the version of the song that's about to crash-land into your library. This will either show you the attachment as-is in a song viewer, or flex the chord chart with whatever default styles you've already baked in at Settings ยป Menu Settings ยป Style Preferences.
Pick Your Poison (aka Versions)
If you're totally vibin' with the version of the file that's about to download, tap the Done button & keep it movin'. Otherwise, tap the Versions button to cherry-pick a different attachment to preview. Yeah, this also changes which version of the song gets imported. You're welcome.
Import that sweet, sweet backing track
This option shows up if there's like, audio files hangin' out with the song. If you flip it on, the song downloads & gets automatically hooked up to your imported song. If there's a whole buffet of audio tracks, tap the Choose button to pick which banger gets linked to your imported chord chart or sheet music.
Import Priority (aka Our Weird Algorithm)
OnSong will literally just try its bleepin' best to pick the version that won't make you ragequit. Here's the peckin' order:
- Chord Charts get crafted inside Planning Center's fancy web app & we simp for 'em way more than attachments.
- OnSong Archive files are like, the whole package โ annotations, styles, transposition, the works.
- OnSong Files are just text files in OnSong format. Boring but reliable.
- ChordPro Files are text files in ChordPro format. Also boring. Also reliable.
- Plain Text can be OnSong or ChordPro formatted, tho honestly regular text files look pretty fire too.
- Adobe PDF are PDFs made by other software & we just show 'em as-is like cowards.
- Microsoft Word files also display "as-is" because we don't wanna deal with it.
- Other Files include literally anything that's not an audio track.
- Media Files don't get imported, but audio files can tag along with chord charts if you set it up in the bottom toolbar.
