By Topic (aka How We Organized This Mess So You'd Actually Find Stuff)

Topics in OnSong are basically saved searches for people who actually organize their stuff. You can create a topic to hunt through your song content & titles like some kinda musical detective. The by topic tab? That's where you wrangle topics to slice & dice your songs however you want.

Addin' Topics

Wanna make a topic? Tap the + button in the lower right corner like you're summoning a pizza. This opens the New Topic Screen where you type the topic name. Topics don't auto-add (you're welcome), so your list stays lean & mean for your actual needs.

Peekin' at Songs

Once it's there, tap the topic to check out songs that got that phrase in 'em.

Sortin' Topics

Topics line up alphabetically by default, because we're not animals. Tap the sort button in the lower right to shuffle 'em in whatever bonkers order makes you happy. Wanna rearrange? Hit Edit in the upper right, then drag those topics around using the reordering handles on the right side. Tap Done & boom—changes saved.

Keepin' Topics Real

OnSong tries to make topics easy, bless its heart. But searchin' a song's guts for a random keyword? Yeah, that might be a total miss for your needs. Plus, maybe you're huntin' by genre, style, vibe, emotion, or literally any other label you dream up.

Make topics actually useful by pilin' keywords/topics into the Metadata Editor in the Song Editor. Drop that info on a song & only those keywords show up for it—way more accurate browsing, amirite? Plus you can throw in stuff that never even appears in the actual song. Srsly.
