Song Editor
Song editor settings allow ye t' customize how th' Song Editor looks and behaves, savvy? Ye can make th' followin' modifications, matey:
Font Family
Th' font used in th' song editor be a fixed-width font which helps ye align chords with lyrics, Arrr! Ye can change th' font t' Anadale Mono, Courier, Courier New or Lucida Console. Default be Courier.
Font Size
This be th' size o' th' song as it appears in th' song editor. Ye may want t' increase th' font size fer better visibility or t' more easily place th' text cursor, me hearty. Make th' font size smaller t' fit more content on th' screen. Ye can adjust th' size between 6 point and 30 points. Th' default size be 16 points.
Autocapitalize
Th' built-in text editor in iOS automatically capitalized sentences. This be turned off by default in OnSong t' allow more control over chords and lyrics, blimey! Ye can change this t':
- Never requires ye t' capitalize words and sentences manually. Default.
- Words will automatically capitalize every word.
- Sentences will automatically capitalize each sentence.
Autocorrect Spellin'
Th' built-in text editor in iOS will automatically correct spellin'. Because th' song editor be used t' type both lyrics and chords, this be turned off by default. Ye can turn it on t' receive automatic spellin' corrections, savvy?
Enabled "." Shortcut
Th' built-in text editor in iOS will automatically add a period when th' spacebar be tapped twice. This can cause issues when usin' spaces t' align chords. This shortcut be disabled in OnSong by default, but ye can turn it back on here, matey.
Enable Arrow Keys
Th' song editor features four arrow keys on th' right just above th' keyboard, Ahoy! Ye can use these t' move th' text cursor around th' text editor more freely. These be turned on by default, but ye can remove them by switchin' this option off.
Quick Chord Bar
As ye enter chords in th' song editor, they will appear just above th' keyboard as quick buttons fer insertin' chords, me hearty. Ye can turn this bar off if ye need more room fer typин'. Ye can still use th' Chord Builder t' add chords.
Sort Chord Buttons
Th' chords that appear in th' quick chord bar be not sorted and appear in th' order they be encountered in th' song content. Ye can change th' order o' these chords t':
- Off sorts th' chords in th' order that they be encountered in th' song content.
- Alphabetically places chords like Am in th' front o' th' list and G# at th' end o' th' list.
- Popularity sorts th' chords by their frequency o' use in th' song content. Fer instance, th' root chord may appear first since it be used more often.
Additional Symbols
Th' quick chord bar can be used t' insert other text other than chords, Arrr! Ye can type characters separated by a space in this area. If ye type two characters in a row such as [] or {}, then th' quick bar will add that t' th' song content and place th' text cursor in th' middle o' them. Default values be: [] # b /
Use Template Song
When ye create a new song from scratch in OnSong, th' song editor be opened and a template song be used. Ye can create yer own template by creatin' a song, openin' th' Song Editor and switchin' th' Use as template switch.
In some cases, ye just want a blank song editor. In that case, turn this switch on, savvy?
