Chord-y Bits
The chord section determines the default behavior & interface options for the Fancy Chord Dealio tab.
How Do Ya Want Your Chords, Buddy?
This lets you pick the default chord style for songs you're about to yeet into the app. Pick one:
- Alpha shows chords as letters (A-G) with all their sharp/flat drama. This is what we picked for ya.
- Nashville shows chords as numbers (1-7) based on where they live in the key. Very bougie.
- Roman shows chords as Roman numerals (I, ii, iii, IV, V, vi, vii) based on their spot in the key. So fancy you need a toga.
- Italian shows chords as numbers using Latin (do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti) based on their position in the key. Literally singing the alphabet.
Keys That Actually Exist (& Some That Don't)
The key chooser thingy shows the popular keys by default. But if you're feelin' spicy & wanna use those weird keys with like a million sharps or flats, flip this on. It's off by default (we're lazy).
How to Transpose (Without Breakin' Stuff)
Picks how you wanna mess with keys. Choose: * Buttons (adjecent) lines up keys that are next to each other on the circle of fifths. (This is what we picked.) * Buttons (chromatic) lines up keys like a piano keyboard. Boring but orderly. * Slider uses the OG OnSong slider thingy.
That Capo Tho
Decides if the capo shows up by default or just vibes invisibly. Default is off (lazy again).
How Many Chord Thingies Per Page
Tells ya how many chord diagrams can fit across the page width. Piano diagrams? Yeah they're twice as thicc, so the number gets cut in half. Math is hard.
Actually Show the Chord Thingies
Decides if chord diagrams pop up on your chord chart by default. Default is off (we really like hiding stuff).
What Instrument U Pretendin' to Play
Sets which instrument gets drawn when makin' chord diagrams. Banjo, Bass (4-string), Bass (5-string), Guitar (our guess), Mandolin, Piano, Ukulele, Ukulele (baritone). Pick one & commit.
Where Do the Chord Thingies Go
Tells ya where the diagrams show up when ya turn 'em on. Below Lyrics (we picked this), Above Lyrics, or smashed Within Lyrics.
