Snitchin' On Songs (It's a Thing)
The dope song reporting settings screen totally changes how the Lyricz Snitch Screen works. It also messes with how songs get tracked in the app for all your reporting shenanigans.
How Ya Wanna Rat 'Em Out?
Songs can be snitched on in two totally different ways:
- By Set uses the date & time you said a set happened to figure out if a song got played that day. Like, if you make a set for June 15, 2015 & throw songs in it, boom — those songs get reported as used on that exact date. Real talk tho: you gotta archive your sets instead of yeeting them, or all that juicy usage data disappears into the void. Works best if you're that person who actually makes sets before you perform. (It's the default, obvs.)
- By Usage is like, way fancier, cuz it tracks songs based on how long they've been chillin' on your screen. This keeps better tabs on what songs actually got used whether you're makin' sets or just winging it like a total renegade.
Flex Your Reports
This setting changes how the reporting screen groups all your data. You got options:
- Daily tracks songs day by day. (Micromanagement much?)
- Weekly tracks songs used each week. (The sweet spot. Default.)
- Monthly tracks songs used each month.
- Quarterly tracks songs used each quarter of the year.
- Yearly tracks songs used each year. (Bold of you to think ahead.)
Usage Report Tracking
When you're trackin' by usage, OnSong throws in a lil' delay so it doesn't mark songs you were just peepin' at. Customize that procrastination window:
- Immediately marks the song the second you eyeball it.
- After 1 minute marks the song after you've been starin' at it for a full minute. (Default. We're patient.)
- After 2-5 minutes marks the song after you've been gazin' at it for way longer.
Note: OnSong is lazy & doesn't actually snitch to CCLI or services like that. You gotta manually report your usage to whoever's licensin' authority is keepin' tabs. Srsly, don't blame us when they come knockin'.
