Yo, Tune Up Your Song Editor (If You're Into That)

Song editor settings let you customize how the Chord & Lyrics Playground looks & acts like a total diva. You can tweak literally all of this:

Font Fam

The font in the song editor? It's fixed-width, which means your chords & lyrics won't look like absolute spaghetti. Switch it up to Anadale Mono, Courier, Courier New, or Lucida Console if you're feelin' spicy. We picked Courier cuz... reasons.

Font Size

This is how big or tiny your song looks in the editor. Need those lyrics bigger cuz your eyes are goin'? CRANK IT. Wanna fit more stuff on screen? Make it teeny. Pick anywhere between 6 & 30 points. We ship it at 16 cuz we're so thoughtful.

Autocapitalize

iOS tries to capitalize everything like your grandma texting. We turned it OFF in OnSong cuz chords & lyrics need chill. Change it to:

• Never means YOU capitalize stuff manually like a peasant. That's the default.
• Words auto-capitalizes every single word. INTENSE.
• Sentences auto-caps the start of sentences. REASONABLE.

Autocorrect Spelling

iOS's built-in spelling fixer is aggressive. Since you're typing both lyrics & chords (& weird chord symbols), we disabled it. But if you wanna live dangerously, flip it on.

Enabled "." Shortcut

Tap spacebar twice & iOS adds a period. Cool for normal people, NIGHTMARE for chord alignment. We ditched it in OnSong, but hey, you can turn it back on if you hate yourself.

Enable Arrow Keys

Four tiny arrow keys hang out above the keyboard so you can move your cursor around like you actually know what you're doin'. They're ON by default. Kill 'em if you need screen real estate.

Quick Chord Bar

As you type chords, they pop up as buttons above the keyboard for speed-pickin'. Cluttered your vibe? Turn it off. (You can still use the Chord Builder tho.)

Sort Chord Buttons

Those quick chord buttons? They show up in the order you typed 'em. Chaotic energy. Wanna organize? Choose:

• Off = they appear in whatever order you typed 'em. Total anarchy.
• Alphabetically = Am comes first, G# comes last. So organized.
• Popularity = sorts by how much you use each chord. The root chord flexes first cuz it's basically living there.

Additional Symbols

Wanna throw non-chord junk in the quick bar? Go nuts. Type characters separated by spaces. If you do [] or {}, the bar auto-inserts it & sticks your cursor in the middle. Factory defaults: [] # b /

Use Template Song

When you create a fresh song in OnSong, you get a template to start with. Make your own by buildin' a song, openin' the Song Editor, & flippin' the Lemme use this as my starter pack switch.

Sometimes you just want a blank canvas tho. Flip this on & you're golden.
